Balsam Bashing at the Cover

Sunday 30th July - Balsam Bashing at the Cover 10:30-13:00 meet at the Car park Kilmore Road

Himalayan balsam (invasive species) has been a problem in Urquhart Bay for many years, and the situation has worsened. Each year we aim to remove all flowering plants.

On Sunday the 30th of July, The Woodland Trust Scotland and Highland Magic Fibre Arts are holding a balsam bashing work party, where the plants will be pulled and left to dry out while the heads are harvested to use in natural dye projects.

The plant is safe to handle and no tools or experience are required, you just need a pair of wellies and a sense of adventure.

For more info contact Ross Watson: 07585 995300

Thank you to the Woodland Trust and Highland Magic Fibre Arts.
